The Future is Now: Unleash the Power of Digital Transformation

According to the 2024 World Digital Competitiveness Ranking by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), the Philippines ranked 61st out of 67 economies. Within the Asia-Pacific region, the country placed 13th out of 14, ahead only of Mongolia. All because of lack of scientific concentration and lack of talent.

This highlights the challenges faced by the Philippines, particularly among SMEs and the public sector, in keeping pace with technological advancements. We need to accelerate our digital literacy and embrace technology.

To confront this challenge head-on, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), the country’s premier and largest business organization, is leveraging the Philippine Business Conference and Expo (PBC&E) as a strategic platform for change. This annual summit gathers policymakers, business leaders, and development partners in a dynamic forum to discuss and address the most pressing economic and technological issues facing the nation.

This year, the 51st Philippine Business Conference and Expo will be reimagined as an immersive, hands-on technology showcase—designed to equip Filipino businesses with the tools, insights, and partnerships they need to future-proof their operations.

Targeting over 50,000 participants, the event will serve as a catalyst for digital transformation, business growth, and national development. Through interactive exhibits, solution-driven discussions, and strategic networking opportunities, the PBC&E will empower our nation to compete, innovate, and thrive in the digital age.

CEO and Co-founder

Converge ICT Solutions Inc.

Leadership Overview

Dennis Anthony Uy is currently the CEO of Converge ICT Solutions Inc and leads several other companies in the country as well as board membership in technology companies abroad.

A self-made industrialist, Mr. Uy started doing business in his teens with a Betamax and VHS rental shop that eventually evolved into cable television which he founded right after Mt. Pinatubo eruption in his hometown Pampanga.

With an eye for the future and a mind for innovation, Mr. Uy implemented the first ever data-over-cable service in the Central Luzon region with ComClark Network and Technology Corporation. The company gradually expanded its customer base, its suite of services, and its expertise in ICT.

Going from strength to strength, Mr. Uy, together with his wife Grace, founded fiber internet and technology solutions provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. in 2007 and eventually listed the company in the Philippine Stock Exchange in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic as one of the biggest initial public offerings (IPOs) at that time.

Mr. Uy's dream for digital transformation may have begun in Central Luzon, but it took off in Metro Manila. In 2013, Converge launched the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) fixed broadband services and entered Metro Manila, the nation's capital. From there, he focused his efforts on building up the fiber network of Converge, while competitors were battling it out in other technology spaces such as wireless broadband or DSL.

A game-changer and a futurist in his field, Mr. Uy has been racking up recognition for single-handedly changing the fiber internet landscape in the Philippines. In 2024, the country's largest business organization, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, recognized Dennis as a driving force in ICT, and awarded him the 'Nation- Builder' Award.

In 2020, he garnered the Master Entrepreneur Award at the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA), and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 11th Asia CEO Awards (ACA). In 2021, Mr. Uy was again awarded the Master Entrepreneur at the 2021 APEA Regional Edition. The Converge CEO was also named among PeopleAsia Magazine's "Men Who Matter" in June 2021, recognizing future-ready entrepreneurs, leaders, and artists.

The year after, no less than the prestigious EY-administered Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines (EOYP) Awards crowned Dennis as the Entrepreneur of the Year and Master Entrepreneur, further solidifying his reputation as an astute businessman, leading Converge into dominance of the telco industry.
